Supporting the NSPCC
We have been raising money for the NSPCC since 2004 through sales of envelopes and so far we have donated over £205,000 to support their work with vulnerable children and young people.
To show continued support of this fantastic charity we are increasing the donation in 2008 to 20p for every box of New Guardian envelopes sold.
The NSPCC's vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. The aim is to put a stop to child cruelty. FULL STOP.
The NSPCC has 180 community based projects across the UK, including 34 Treatment & Therapeutic services. They provide therapy to children who have been abused, and use child-led techniques such as play and art therapy. These centres are vital for children to enable them to rebuild their childhoods and deal with the psychological long lasting effects abuse can leave.
The money raised so far could enable the NSPCC to run an entire centre for over 6 months. In one year their Treatment & Therapeutic services help around 2000 children lead happier lives.
